prompt: write an essay about the 13th rule for the book 'Beyond Order', in a style that combines the King James Bible and the Tao Te Ching

The 13th rule in "Beyond Order" states that "The only way to find true happiness is to be in service to something bigger than yourself." This message is one that is echoed in both the King James Bible and the Tao Te Ching, two ancient texts that offer wisdom on the path towards a fulfilling and meaningful life.

In the King James Bible, the concept of "serving others" is central to the teachings of Jesus. In the passage from Mark 10:45, Jesus says, "For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." This passage teaches that true happiness and fulfillment come from putting the needs of others above one's own, and from living a life of compassion and selflessness.

Similarly, in the Tao Te Ching, the concept of "wu wei" (non-action) is central to the understanding of how to live a fulfilling and harmonious life. The Tao Te Ching teaches that true happiness and fulfillment come from living in accordance with the natural flow of the universe, and from letting go of the ego and serving the greater good. As it states in Chapter 63, "Act without doing; work without effort. Think of the small as large and the few as many. Confront the difficult while it is still easy; accomplish the great task by a series of small acts."

These examples illustrate that the 13th rule of "Beyond Order" is one that is present in many different spiritual traditions around the world. Whether through the teachings of Jesus in the King James Bible or the concept of "wu wei" in the Tao Te Ching, the message is clear: true happiness and fulfillment come from being in service to something bigger than oneself. By living in this way, we are able to find a sense of purpose and connection to something greater than ourselves, and in doing so, we are able to find true happiness.
